Whilst it was always a possibility, it is a shame to see Phantasy Star Portable 2 seller less than the original, when you consider all the improvements SEGA had made, as well as their belief this game would be an even bigger seller than the previous title, no doubt this will come as a real let down for themselves. Still they can perhaps take peace of mind in the fact that Phantasy Star Portable 2 will be SEGA’s second best seller this year so far in Japan, although it seems almost certain Yakuza 3 will finish as the top dog, doing just under 500,000 in Japan.
Speaking of Yakuza 3, the re-released BEST version of the title is hanging on to the charts but coming close to the end of it’s stay, with just being released a week ago in this chart, that isn’t great, but then again BEST version of Playstation 3 games have not sold in large quantities, though Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan! managed close to 50,000 whilst Valkyria Chronicles went closer to 60,000, let’s hope Yakuza 3 will fall in the same company as the latter.
And to close off this latest report, J-League 6 seems to also be coming to the end of it’s success, staying in the charts for 5 weeks now, the title began it’s stay at number one with around 90,000 units sold, by it’s second week it was well over 100,000 units and who knows how much it is now, but no doubt it’s certain that it managed to beat the previous version on the DS, let’s all bid Mr Osim a mission accomplished! That wraps it up for this edition, till next time!
