DHXIII’s Top 10 Dreamcast Games

Today I am a trying something a little different for Sega Shiro and hopefully it will encourage people to buy a dreamcast. This is (obviously) the top ten dreamcast games, These choices are personal to me therefore your choices may not be the same as mine! Hopefully you guys will enjoy the list!

Super Magnetic Neo:
This game is essentially a Crash Bandicoot clone with an absurd twist. The twist is that you have a magnet attached to your head and you need to use this to navigate through segments of the game. This can make for some interesting puzzles and some fun platforming. The game is very cheerful and happy therefore is not recommended for all those Xbox 360 owners! (I kid)
Blue Stinger:
This was a Dreamcast launch title that sold fairly well, this is actually an enjoyable game (although quite cheesy) This game is yet another rip-off of a classic game, and in this case it is Resident Evil. This game is a horror game with a really absurd yet interesting story (With some bad voice acting accompanying it). It’s gameplay is very similar to Resident Evil (Which is a fantastic thing!) although is bit less fluent and can be glitchy at times. It’s actually a really fun and interesting game, and all Dreamcast users should check it out especially at such a low price tag.

Soul Calibur:
This game screams brilliance, the graphics were brilliant, the fighting system was great, (most) of the characters were actually very cool. The only problem I had with this game is that it is rather short, you can unlock most of the games content in a few hours. Luckily there is multiplayer and it is fantastic to pwn your friends! One of the best parts of the game is the fact that even though it is the oldest Soul Calibur it is still the best in all respects (Am I the only one that thought Soulcalibur IV Sucked?)
Virtua Fighter 3tb
Most people will disagree with me putting this in front of Soul Calibur. But in my opinion this game is better (Obvious Virtua Fighter fanboy). I remember being a little annoyed at Sega for not releasing Virtua Figher 3 on the Saturn. So when I found out about the dreamcast I was hoping for the third VF to be on the system. And luckily enough it was. And the best part was that it was fantastic. It managed to hit all the right nails and is one of the best VF’s released. I loved the character roster, stages, everything about the game. Seriously it is fantastic!
Rayman 2:
Ahhhh, Rayman what a brilliant series (Until those Rabbids came!) This is the best rayman game to be released (And the best version of Rayman 2) it had a very dark approach at the story as a pose to the first of the Rayman series which was a tad too happy (That’s not to say it’s a bad game, trust me it’s good!) It’s gameplay is fantastic and can be relatively difficult at points. It is quite a large game and has some interesting mini-games that most versions of this game doesn’t have. It also has plenty of thing such as cages and lums for you to collect. In the whole it’s a fantastic 3-d platform game that is known for excellence.
Seaman:
Seaman is Excellent. Not much else to say here apart from: Funniest game ever. Seriously though it is a decent game that has some rather strange gimmicks. The point on the game is to look after your Seaman (Half man Half fish) , you do this by talking to it Via the Dreamcast microphone. This may sound disturbing and that’s because it is. Majority of the time spent playing this game you will find that the Seaman spurts out random comments that are irrelevant but funny! Once the novelty has wore off you can kill Seaman if you wish (This game isn’t actually worthy of number 5, I’m just a moron.)
Resident Evil 2:
Resident evil is a survival horror in which you survive through some rather scary situations. This game is essentially just a better graphic version of the Playstation version, It also has some interesting additions such as your ammo and health is shown on the VMU (Visual Memory Unit). This game is Resident Evil at it’s best, it has fun puzzles, cheesy cutscenes, not nearly enough ammo for your gun and various other attributes that the Resident Evil series is known for. My only complaint is that sometimes zombies can take off far to much health.
Resident Evil- Code Veronica:
Another Resident Evil? Yes I’m a blatant fanboy. This game is similar to RE2 except with better graphics, controls, gameplay and story. This game is just an overall improvement. It certainly has very little flaws and is still very playable today. It’s worth getting it (Even is it is one of the remade versions) as it has a decent story and is one of the best Resident Evil games alongside 4 and 0.
Shenmue:
I think everyone saw this one coming. And that is because it’s such a remarkable game. The graphics are top notch the game has a fantastic story. The game has so much to do and see. This game is a cult classic and is a shining example of Sega at it’s best. This game is great in so many ways. My only problem with this game is that I could never get past the segment of the game with the arcades as I would just play the arcades instead if progressing through the story! (Not really a legitimate complaint, eh?)
Sonic Adventure/Sonic Adventure 2:
These two games truly are fantastic. There is so much to do such as getting Emblems, Playing as various different sonic characters, playing a NiGhts pinball game I could go on for hours. Both of these games are great fun at so many levels. This is a great demonstration of 3-d sonic being done correctly (Sonic Unleashed was good but I felt that the Were-Hog segments were not necessary) Hopefully Sonic 4 will be as good as these two gems!
Well it looks like I have reached the end of this list, I hope you enjoyed the list guys! (That was time consuming XD)

You forgot to put Space Channel 5 on third place. XD
hahahaha…Space Channel 5 has more fans than I ever realized.
I forgot that game! Shame on me
