SegaShiro: Pure SEGA HARDCORE!

SEGA has two “Ring” branded arcade boards and the Ringwide board presents a lower cost solution for developers while the Ringedge is for intensive titles like Border Break. The first fighter on SEGA’s latest hardware is Ecole’s Melty Blood franchise.

The title is long-winded: Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code.

The previous entries in the Melty Blood franchise utilized the Naomi arcade board and landed on the Japanese PS2. The game is a traditional 2D fighter with tight controls and excellent balance (it has been used in tournaments). Anoop Gantayat from Andriasang.com writes:

“The new Ringwide version promises new characters, improved balance (hence the name “Current Code”), full voice for the scenario sequences, and additional artwork.”

The title is set hit Japan this year and will be presented at the SEGA booth at the AOU show.
