Loading ...Missed Chance: Segata Sanshiro was in SEGA ALL-Stars Racing?

When browsing Wikipedia I found a very interesting ”what if” scenario, one that involves the man who stands proudly on the logo of our site. Yes it is the marketing legend Segata Sanshiro, the man who beats the living daylights out of children for not owning the Sega Saturn. The man who risked his life to save Sega, the legend.
Enough of the worshipping though, I am here with a story. This story is that Segata Sanshiro, was considered as a potential character in S&SAR, this isn’t confirmed as it was on Wikipedia, and anyone can add their segment to the article.
Even still it’s a pretty cool idea especially as his vehicle would be a Sega Saturn [Ed. Note: It would've been cooler if rode a rocket or Santa's Sleigh and had a Saturn strapped to his back].
However, Steve Lycett has officially said that Segata Sanshiro was considered however the idea was pulled. Why..? Because SEGATA can’t lose or because him riding a SEGA Saturn didn’t really fit the game:
“I’d not hold your breath on Segata Sanshiro, we did look at the possibility (and yes, I’ve even got some concept art of him riding on a Sega Saturn) but then I’ve got concept art for all manner of things that aren’t in the game!” - Steve Lycett
There is also a segment stating that Vyse from Skies of Arcadia has been considered along side with Toe Jam and Earl – check out the SEGAbits interview as Lycett talks many SEGA characters that were cut.
Hopefully, the end game will end up having a few surprise cameos and there is always DLC.
