AVP Hits UK Charts at Number 1, Sequel Rumors Begin…
Thank you, UK! It turns out that AVP franchise cannot be dismissed as the game shot to charts in the UK leap frogging over BioShock 2, Just Dance, New Super Mario Bros. and Fifa 10. That is pretty impressive and it looks like the game is a success.
Furthermore, there are already discussions about a sequel to the game because of its generally favorable reviews despite some real stinkers from North American media outlets (73 Metacritic Rating). Rebellion’s CEO, Jason Kingsley, stated: “We wanted Aliens Versus Predator to be a critical success as well as a commercial success…which we think we have achieved…We would love to work with Sega again…there were a lot of things we couldn’t fit into the original.”
Now, this might be a big give-a-way for the upcoming review but after I played through the campaign mode of Rebellion’s AVP – I wanted a sequel immediately. Thank goodness the game has a Survivor mode or I would be in serious AVP gore withdrawal.
