SegaShiro: Pure SEGA HARDCORE!

The latest screens of Vanquish are out and circulating the web. It is looking mighty hot and nice cross between Halo and Gears of War with a little Japanese Mech action. All the screens feature 3rd Person action which is good because the only solid Japanese FPS I can think of is Out Trigger and that is an arcade title.

The Boost system sounds a bit like a combination of the roadie run in Gears of War and the cover system in the first Army of Two title albeit with more control, essentially gamers can slide into and out cover and rush towards enemies for close quarter kills:

“Boosting, according to the Famitsu report, makes the character slide around, speeding up to confront enemies, or quickly hiding being obstructions. The site describes the gameplay as ‘move quickly, take out enemies, then hide,’ different from the image of slow progress one has from typical shooters.”

Speed and tension seem to always be mentioned in the same breath with this title. Those are two things I love in games. The main character’s name has also been revealed to be Sam. With  a name like that the Metroid-Vanquish fan fiction will write itself.  I imagine that much of it will be erotic.

I can’t wait to try out this title/
