SegaShiro: Pure SEGA HARDCORE!

Okay, this might not be directly related to SEGA anymore but I have many fond memories of playing the NHL 2K series on the Dreamcast – in fact I still have a sealed copy of SEGA SPORTS NHL 2K2 kicking around the bunker – it was the last DC title released here.

Today was the NHL trade deadline so please give this Canuck a moment to revel in Hockey glory.  The 2K series really gave the EA titles a run for their money providing sports games that were simulation first.

I was a little sad to read that NHL 2K series was being canned after this year’s edition after reports surfaced that the title did not appear on Take Two’s quarterly reports.

However, due to the 2K10 title gaining traction on the Wii in terms of sales in Canada, the Wii version will receive a 2K11 edition and the series will re-tooled, re-worked, and re-booted on the Xbox 360 and PS3 for 2K12 to compete against EA titles.

Does anyone else miss SEGA’s sports titles?
