Sega Rally Fan Recreates the Celica ST205 GT-Four (AWESOME)
I’ve seen quite a few car mods in my trips around the world but nothing has ever come close to jaw-dropping awesomeness of the one pictured above. A fan of SEGA Rally on the Atari Age Forums recreated the classic Toyota racer from SEGA’s arcade game.
The folks over at jalopnik.com have a great write-up and a ton of pictures of the car:
“His car started life as an ordinary ’95 Celica GT; $300 in decals and a bunch of aftermarket parts later, it is now something else entirely. And while you may look at this and wonder what the big deal is — with the exception of the cosmetics, the car is largely stock — we applaud it anyway. The cool thing here, after all, is that this was found on a video-game forum. The guy built this car not out of love for rally or love for Toyota — he built it because he loves a game. Car spawns sim spawns enthusiast spawns car: Amen.”
My hat goes off to the creator. Dude, you ride in style. Now that I’ve seen this – one day I’m going to have to build myself a recreation of the Daytona USA’s Hornet.
