SEGA Europe has let AVP fans know that the game’s fanbase will no longer be split between to groups as the 4 special edition DLC maps will be hitting PSN, Xbox Live, and PC on March 18, 2010. North America will also receive the map pack at the same time. The UK price point sits at €5.99/ £4.79/ 560 Microsoft Points while North American price point falls at $6.99 or 560 Microsoft Points.

The “Swarm Map Pack” unleashes 4 new maps in total, 2 maps for Survivor and 2 maps for the 6 other online modes. Details include:

_{Two new Multiplayer maps for six different online modes (Deathmatch, Predator Hunt, Infestation, Species Deathmatch, Mixed Species Deathmatch and Domination) :}

_{• Docks: The caustic alkali waters of BG-386 put an end to Weyland-Yutani’s planned shipping activities.
• Machine: As well as processing exotic ores, the BG-386 Refinery provided electrical power to the colonists at Freya’s Prospect.}

_{Two new Survivor maps in which up to four Marines battle to stay alive against increasing swarms of Aliens:}

_{• Outpost: The site of the original Weyland-Yutani colony on BG-386 was abandoned, and soon reclaimed by the planet’s voracious jungle plant life.}

_{• Hive: Deep in the heart of the Freya’s Prospect Refinery lays the Xenomorph Hive.}

It is about time they released more survivor maps. It is quick and dirty gaming for me…which I need while the computer sits and compiles video for ungodly amounts of time. I wonder if some of the match-making issues will be addressed.
