I hate commercials for men’s razors. They always feature dudes with no discernible facial hair and stupid “geez whiz science” graphics telling me how 6 blades with an aloe strip provide a closer shave than last year’s model which had 5 blades and battery powered vibration.

When will they understand that they need to simplify the ads? I think the Kai Group might at least somewhat understand my sincere and complex hate for men’s razor products as they are now promoting Kai Razors with the image of Kazuma from SEGA’s Yakuza who rocks the soul patch.

The insinuation is fantastic: “Kai Razors will bring your heat up”  or “Kai Razors… they’ll cut you.” Kazuma will be going the whole distance as well from print ads to TV spots.

Kazzy might not be real but he still has more facial hair than any actor I’ve seen in a Gillette TV spot.

Also, SEGA is cross promoting with B&V who operate a national karaoke chain called Karaoke Kan. The chain will be featured in game and the real-life counterparts will have 4 special drinks named after the four main characters and feature promotional poster displays on location.
