Iron Man 2 Taking Cues From Hideo Kojima’s Zone of Enders

Destructoid has a preview up over at their site and Iron Man 2 producer Kyle Brink says the team over at SEGA Studios is addressing the myriad of problems expressed by fans.

Brink brings experience from high profile titles like Call of Duty and SIMS  to Iron Man 2; he stated: “You read the first three forum posts on Iron Man 1, and you know everything about what needs to be fixed…I went and read a whole bunch of feedback, looked at my own notes, and was like ‘I don’t disagree with any of this.’”

Interestingly, Brink also suggested that the team had taken cues from PS2 cult hit Zone of Enders in attempt to improve the flying gameplay. Nick Chester writes:

“Hovering and flying, expected abilities from Iron Man, have also been given an overhaul in the sequel as well. Brink mentions they took cues from Hideo Kojima’s Zone of Enders series, mapping up and down to controller face buttons…It’s also possible to lock on to targets, giving you a third vector of motion and making it easy to take out enemies when on the aerial move.”

The preview also mentions that gamers can control War Machine or Iron Man who differ slightly in strength and speed. The game will receive a demo on PSN and Xbox 360 after the official launch. The game is due out on May 4, 2010.
