WTF?! They Ported Super Mario Bros. to a Genesis Emulator!

Yup, long after the ruins of the 16-bit war of whithered to dust, Luigi and Mario have finally got blast processed in a sense. The port was created by Mairtrus who states:

“At least the 75% of the code is still untouched after the translation”

An automatic converter did th bulk of the translation code work, swapping one processor assembly language for another, leaving the  with the chore of optimizing the game down to 64KB to the creator. Hit the jump to check out the video:

    Impressive, if I understood Famicom assembly and hardware I’d love to do something like this. I would probably port Metroid.

    Yeah the tech behind it all sounds very interesting despite the fact that like DarrenIndeed I screamed “nooooo” when I saw it.

    Though the NES game that I loved the most and would find funny to see on the Genesis would be River City Ransom.
