Developer Blue Side of the Kingdom Under Fire fame are crafting their first DS title which is an action RPG called Shining Legends. While it isn’t a Shining Force title – the spin-off legacy is growing quite large.

In the game players will travel to over 40 lands and be able to embark on over 400 quests. The game will also feature multiple endings. The first details of the premise and story can be found on Blue Side’s website which can be viewed in English, Korean, and Japaenese. Check it out: here.

I have not played any new Shining games in years. The main reason being that they’re not focusing on Strategy/RPGs or dungeon crawlers. I haven’t tried the Action/RPGs they’ve put out. Are any of them respectable?

I have have two of them Shining Force NEO and EXA but to be honest I haven’t booted them up yet.

They look like Record of Lodoss War on the Dreamcast.

In fact, I think Neverland (the developer) crafted all three of those games.

Well, RoLW was friggin’ great, but I didn’t really get that vibe eyeballing screenshots of the early/mid 2000 Shining games. Perhaps I’ll have to give them a shot after all.

I’m really not into this series since I have no idea how to play the original that came with SUGC but I have noticed that I only really care about new games in this series when “Force” is in the name.
