Yuji Naka wants to make a Dreamcast 2
Yuji Naka, the old head of Sonic Team (and my personal hero as a child) was recently interivewed by CVG, and is pining for the old days of being involved with making new Sega consoles.
“If I have the opportunity in the future I want to be involved again with hardware making,” he said. “It would be ideal if I could become some sort of advisor working with the platform makers in future.
“I think if I can work really well with the platform makers then it’s good for everyone, because I can then come up with totally new games.”
He goes on to joke about how if Ivy the Kiwi does well in Europe, maybe he can make a Dreamcast 2. I think he means more of a spiritual successor than an actual new Sega console, though I’m sure nothing would please Naka-san more than for Sega to get back into the hardware game…it’s not likely to happen any time soon.

He certainly knows how to endear himself to the SEGA fanbase
Hell yeah he does.
Yeah, Yuji Naka loved that console, and I think he’d probably be the right man on the job should Sega ever do another console. It probably won’t happen, but you can dream!
