Industrial Design Student Elie Ahovi has produced some very high-quality images of a “what-if?” Dreamcast 2. He calls it the Dreamcast Delta. I call it one sleek mother. Stealth bomber of the console world. You have done our goddess patron unit proud.
Some of the design stuff like using your smartphone as a controller is a neat idea, but I would have liked a control pad design too. Controllers are the way to go!

Cool job! Though I find it odd how fans assume SEGA would have named their next console “Dreamcast 2″. SEGA’s track record shows that they never use the same name twice. I’d assume it would be something unexpected, but totally fitting. SEGA always did a great job at naming consoles. From Master System to Genesis to Saturn to Dreamcast, each one was unique and unlike the last.
While you are right, I feel if SEGA did decide to come back into hardware, they would probably tie into the Dreamcast name for the cult following the console has. I could be wrong, and we’ll probably never know. But I think it would be a smart move.
As much as I love the original Dreamcast, I think should Sega should name anything new something different. Big IF that ever happens.
The mock up looks nice though. Dunno about the slot loading drive, but pretty shnazzy. I like the return to black also.
