SegaShiro: Pure SEGA HARDCORE!

We are all busy here at Shiro, which has limited the news posts recently. I’m going to do my best to sum up the last week, though!

As you see above, today is Hedgehog Day. It is also the 18th anniversary of the American release of Sonic 3, which sort of makes it Knuckles’ 18th birthday too. To celebrate the day, SEGA announced a date for both Summer of Sonic 2012 AND Sonic Boom 2012 (along with official logos). Summer of Sonic is July 7th in London, Sonic Boom will be held in San Diego, CA on Friday, July 13th (during San Diego Comic Con) at the House of Blues.

We also have had some Sonic 4 Episode 2 concept art recently, including some enemies that look like bosses from the Master System versions of the Sonic games. I support this.

SEGA also put out the winning haikus inspired by House of the Dead, which you can find here. Here’s my favourite:

Trigger finger aches,
Dreamcast whirrs like a chainsaw,
Suffer like G did?

Which reminds me, SEGA are now taking submissions for character name suggestions for the upcoming Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown add-on.
