Yakuza 3 – Memories Trailer

Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love’s Release Date Pushed Back

s38113_ps2_6

Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love will be hitting retailers a week later than expected. This definitely isn’t an Alpha Protocol style of delay but the NIS published entry in the long running SEGA franchise will arguably be the last JRPG title to hit PS2.

The title will launch on May 30, 2010 instead of May 23, 2010. The game will be launched at the $29.99 price point and PS2 version will feature a second Japanese language disc.

Cancelled: Vectorman [PS2]

VM3

Sega’s rejected robot Vectorman was actually going to get his own game on the PS2! Sadly it was cancelled,  no reason has been given for this game being cancelled. There was an updated version of Altered Beast on PS2 and it seems as if this game was to be launched alongside with Altered Beast.  I presume it is just due to the lack of funding, and the fact that Altered Beast didn’t sell incredibly well.

The game does look like a fairly generic game for the PS2 and from the alpha footage you can see that it lacks any kind of innovative features (although the throwing feature looks quite cool) . It would still be nice to see the old man in a game again though. To watch the video please read the rest of this article: Read the rest of this entry »

As of March 31st of 2010, the PC and PS2 servers will be shutdown after a good three year run – the population on these servers are just too low. However, the MAG+ event is still scheduled for Jan. 29, 2010.

Single player will still be available for users and the last subscriptions payments for multiplayer will taken in January 29, 2010 and those players will play free until the end of March.

Xbox 360 version will continue receiving updates and new content. On the SEGA forums, Edward at SEGA stated:
