PS2 and PC Phantasy Universe Servers Closing Down in March

phantasy-star-universe1

Phantasy Star users who are still online on playing on the computer or who are using last generation’s home console hardware may want to think about migrating to the Xbox 360 to continue their online multiplayer gameplay experience.

As of March 31st of 2010, the PC and PS2 servers will be shutdown after a good three year run – the population on these servers are just too low. However, the MAG+ event is still scheduled for Jan. 29, 2010.

Single player will still be available for users and the last subscriptions payments for multiplayer will taken in January 29, 2010 and those players will play free until the end of March.

Nightshade was a hard Ninja to Find!

I spent the better part of the last two months trying to track down a copy of SEGA Wow’s Nightshade title. It is hard to find! Strange enough I found a Japanese copy in my first day of searching but trying to find an English one proved very challenging.

Hopefully, SEGA is working on a Shinobi sequel with the Bayonetta engine…that would be awesome.

Sakura Wars is Hitting Shelves in March!

The official release date for the title has been solidified at March 23rd, 2010 for North America not in February as previously reported.

Furthermore, only the PS2 version will see the 2-Disc Special Edition for $39.99 (it features 2 discs with Japanese/English voice-acting) while Wii users will be locked into playing the title with only English voice acting for $29.99 (US).

I haven’t been too keen on the English voice-acting I’ve heard so far but I figure I’ll pick up whichever title I stumbled across first.
