Vanquish “Gun Pre-Order” Trailer
Damn them graphics sure are pretty…now that I’ve picked my slack jaw off the floor, we can discuss what we just witnessed above.
SEGA is launching a little title named Vanquish that applies a liberal does of speed to the third-person action/shooter genre.
Fans of Platinum Games and Shinji Mikami might be looking for a little bonus if they reserve their copy early – this is exactly what the trailer does shows off three weapons that will come with the game if you pre-order from Gamestop. The Tri-Pack of weapons include the Laser Cannon, the Anti-Armor Pistol, and Boost Machine Gun.

Valkyria Chronicles Community BLiTZ VI – TANKS!
The Valkyria Chronicles Community BLiTZ continues and the information on the title is ramping up. Today, the SEGA blogs discussed some of the finer points about the customizable tanks:
In the first game, the Edelweiss and the Shamrock offered a number of options, each with strengths in particular fronts. In VCII, you can now both name your own tank, and customize it completely – from heavy anti-armor behemoth to a light infantry carrier, and anything in between.
I am especially excited about this customization feature because in the first game I used my tanks in strange ways such as using it to defend a camp or a holding point or to shield a collection of scouts.
The Edelweiss fared well in this regard but I barely used the Shamrock to its true potential. In Valkyria Chronicles 2 it seems like I’ll be able to equip my tank to better fit my Scout-centered battle style. This is great! To read up more about the tanks hit up the SEGA Blogs.

SEGA Registers Japanese Domain for “Valkyria 3″

Could Valkyria Chronicles 3 be in development and potentially returning to the PS3? Well, SEGA is keeping hope alive by registering the URL of Valkyria3.jp. There is currently nothing on the site.
For reference, the Valkyria2.jp site and the Valkyria.jp site both link to the homepage of those respective titles.
Perhaps SEGA of Japan is just making sure they have control of the name for future considerations and brand protection but one can hope SEGA is confident enough with the sales of the PSP title to return to the franchise yet again – perhaps answering the cacophony of cries to see the series return to HD.
A lookup of the site’s whois listing reveals that Sega registered the URL on May 31, 2010. Valkyria Chronicles 2 is a mere week away from release in North America and looks to be something special on the PSP.

North American fans will actually receive the demo a few days earlier as it will arrive on August 31st for PSN and XBLA.
Currently, Vanquish is 100% complete in terms of build and is set to release in October.
