Samurai & Dragons PSVITA Teaser Trailer [Japan]

I’m not sure what to think about this one…I want to pick up a Vita for solid SEGA content (like a Valkyria Chronicles III) but the offerings so far are mere sequels (Virtua Tennis 4, Monkey Ball), that said, I just am not sold on Samurai & Dragons yet.

It doesn’t look as interesting as SEGA’s Japanese PSP releases that are upcoming like Yakuza and Shining Blade. However, the newly unleashed site seems to encapsulate that SEGA is really going for an old school feel with the title: here.

Maybe it just because I was never really sold on SEGA’s Kingdom Conquest idea.

Shining Blades PSP Trailer

You can watch, ogle, altogether drool over this Shining Blades trailer but it has less of a chance of coming West than Valkyria Chronicles III (which sadly doesn’t seem to have much of one either).

Genesis Emulation on PSP Vita Exists…Sort of…

This is some footage of the Picodrive emulator and Half Byte Loader running on the PSP Vita. Interestingly, it is running via PSP emulation on the Vita and the video creator Wololo says this won’t really be possible on the versions that come to market because Sony already has security measures in place.

In fact, most likely, SEGA will find a way to release a SEGA Genesis collection on the Vita so it is basically unnecessary unless you want a very rare title.

Hatsune Miku Project Mirai TV Spot

Hatsune Miku is a superstar in Japan. Not only does she get SEGA a spot on Nintendo’s various 3DS conferences, she gets TV ads overseas a full two months before release.

Miku has broken into the US with Toyota TV spots but it doesn’t seem likely that this one will launch in North America. Don’t fret because you could always important the upcoming Vita version.

Yakuza Black Panther 2 Launches in March

SEGA of Japan’s sequel to Black Panther has been officially dated for March 22 of 2012 (the same month we in the West get Dead Souls). The game is currently has a ¥6,279 (US$80) price point for retail and ¥5,600 (US$71) for the downloadable version.

The story continues the saga of Ukyou Tatsuya who has come back to Japan from a stint in the states and dreams of becoming a boxing champion. Once again the partner system returns – allowing gamers to recruit members to fight alongside of them.

SEGA has also released information on all of the idols in the game. There are seven hostesses in total. The can be found in the game’s locations of Kamurocho and Sotenbori.  Three of the seven come from a Japanese Idol group aptly titled: Idoling!!! If you want to read up on the idols, check out Andriasang.com.

The slideshow features screens of the hostesses and a few action sequences. The graphics seem mighty good for a PSP title. ‘

SEGA says “Merry Christmas” by announcing a New Hatsune Miku Experience!

SEGA is teasing a new Project Diva title for 2012 outside of Project Mirai. I am going to guess it will be for PSVita with the enhanced graphics but one can’t count the PSP in Japan – yet. Read the rest of this entry »

Power Smash PSVita Trailers [Japan]

The announcer is a little too excited but the game does look quite nice. In fact, it looks very close to the PS3 version. The additional touch controls look fun too. However, I can’t wait for SEGA to show up to the Vita party with a new IP or a more “core” experience.  Read the rest of this entry »
