Vanquish PS3 vs. Xbox 360
Spotted on the SEGABits Youtube Page, this video compares the two builds of Vanquish. Digitial Foundry writes:
“The key difference seems to be that the Xbox 360 goes for a conventional capped 30FPS, double-buffer approach (losing v-sync when dropping under the target frame-rate in order to maintain fluidity) whereas the PS3 game employs triple-buffering, effectively ensuring that there is not a single torn frame any time during the gameplay experience. The Xbox 360 version feels a touch more responsive, but whether this is down to the double-buffering or a slightly higher average frame-rate is something we’ll need to take a look at in more depth with the final review code when it appears.”
Having tried the demo on both consoles – all I can say is that seemed pretty identical to me. It comes down to controller preference and a choice between achievements and/or trophies.

Vanquish Demo Impressions…When Solid Snake Meets Master Chief!
The VANQUISH Demo landed on XBOX 360 today clocking at 467.29 MB and features a full set of options, a training mode, and a boss fight. I’ve been incredibly hyped up for this balls-to-the-wall style shooter. But does it disappoint? Read the rest of this entry »
Sonic Free Riders box art!
Kellie over on the Sega America blog just put up the final box art for Sonic Free Riders. I’m actually kind of looking forward to trying this one out. The only Kinect game I want more than this is Child of Eden, for obvious reasons. I quite enjoyed Trickstyle back on the Dreamcast, and if the Kinect controls work well with this, it could be pretty fun!
The rrp is $49.99, which is the standard for Kinect games. Check the original Sega Blog posting over here
Virtual On Force Fetish Unlock Code…?
Virtual On Force is a pretty big title for SEGA of Japan and so they decided to kick off the pre-order fun by announcing the “Fetish Unlock Code.” Hmmm…it is a code that let’s you change the bust size of your giant female-shaped mech. The world has reached new strange heights:
Sega is giving pre-orderers a product download code that lets you change the chest parts of female Virtualoids Fei-Yen and Angelan. The download code gives you exclusive access to a “Thorax” item. Once you have this, you’ll be able to make the desired adjustments from the Virtualoid select screen.
There you have it. When I first saw the image above I innocently thought it was a USB key. I failed to notice the “subtler” details.

Vanquish “Gun Pre-Order” Trailer
Damn them graphics sure are pretty…now that I’ve picked my slack jaw off the floor, we can discuss what we just witnessed above.
SEGA is launching a little title named Vanquish that applies a liberal does of speed to the third-person action/shooter genre.
Fans of Platinum Games and Shinji Mikami might be looking for a little bonus if they reserve their copy early – this is exactly what the trailer does shows off three weapons that will come with the game if you pre-order from Gamestop. The Tri-Pack of weapons include the Laser Cannon, the Anti-Armor Pistol, and Boost Machine Gun.
