The famed artists from Black Rock Shooter, Huke, has crafted the latest DLC costume and weapon for SEGA’s Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity.

On April 14th, gamers can download for 300 yen from PSN a gothic-lolita outfit aptly named “Grim Chain.”

There are some matching scythes to go along with the costume that cost 200 yen each – they are pretty massive in size (in relation to the character) and each has a different weapon type and a 50%  fire attribute – one being a sword type and the other being an Axe type.

Archie Comics has decided that the 20th Anniversary of Sonic might be a good time to reset the comic series and put to rest all of the continuity issues revolving around the 200+ issue series with the latest Sonic: Genesis storyline.

The latest arc will result in some major ramifications. Writer Ian Flynn had this to say:

_{“The Sonic comics were created back when there was a stark division between the Western and Eastern marketing campaigns, only for them to be unified in 1999, which created drastic shifts in the property’s tone and art direction…The Sonic books have weathered all these changes and incorporated a little bit of everything, but despite the best efforts of all the creatives over the years, not everything has perfectly meshed. Genesis is set to change that.”}

Valkyria Chronicles III is getting a 30 minute original video animation in Japan. The anime will hit PSN first and later come to both Blu-ray and DVD – with the Blu-ray getting 2 special editions that differ in extra audio commentary.  Read the rest of this entry »

Up all night designing characters? This contest is for you!

Okay let’s trace this one out…Yamaha is holding contest for a new character design in the Project Diva series. The are putting forth the ideas to fans. Now, the strange thing is that unless SEGA loses the license than eventually this character will appear in a SEGA Project Diva title.

Cool, no?

Anyone in the world is free to enter but it is a little hard to follow because everything is currently written in Japanese. The folks at Siliconera have posted the basic information. Submissions are due between February 25th through April 24th.

Valkyria Chronicles III demo landed on PSN in Japan today and I can’t wait to see how it tweaks upon the engine of the previous PSP edition. The demo is about 156 MB.

In an event for the title, SEGA announced that they are producing an anime for the game that will be a two-off production available through the PlayStation Network. Also, they announced the main theme which is titled “Moshimo Kimi ga Negau no Nara” by Japanese pop star May’n. Finally, SEGA will be releasing some Nendroid figures through Good Smile Company of Riela and Imuka to be released in Spring 2011. Cool.

When SEGA decides to bring this one Stateside…might I suggest that a subtitled version of the anime be included as a bonus? I would still love to get the older series as well!

Fans of the anime, listen up! K-ON! has been released overseas and is available for import if that is your thing. The game adaptation covers the first season of the anime series and I am pretty certain that SEGA will release DLC for the title down the linel.
