Sonic & Knuckles All-Stars RC Cars Review
The Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing RC cars come in two flavors – you can pick up Sonic’s Speedstar or Knuckles’ ATV – but most hardcore fans would probably want to pick up both to pit the former rivals against one another.
At $24.99 are the units worth wasting your hard earned cash on? We have some stylish (or hilarious) videos after the jump and a full breakdown on the RC cars. Read the rest of this entry »
Buy generic MicardisWebsite Story: The Joys, Nuances, and Minor Annoyances with the Nintendo 3DS
Late last week I posted an unboxing video of the North American 3DS – it is pretty funny reading the comments on Youtube that either tell me off or ask me to explain how I got the unit.
One person asked me how it felt to play SEGA games on other consoles…another assumed I did not comprehend that the DS Phat existed before the DS Lite. I even had people demand that I take photos of the back of the box – because that would be proof that I have the North American version and not the Japanese one! Read the rest of this entry »
Buy generic ActigallNotes and Thoughts on Anarchy Reigns
Platinum Games has been a incredible developer for SEGA over the last few years and are infused with the same sort of moxie that the SEGA was known in the heyday as a console manufacturer. They have a punk attitude and love crafting original yet critically acclaimed content. In fact, Platinum Games does what Nintendon’t or Epic Won’t or Capcom Can’t.
One thing that Platinum Games simply does not do what other companies are prone to do – that is sequels. Original IPs are a part of the founding philosophy of the studio. A philosophy that wants to “[s]urprise people each time with original IPs — a game that is the first.”
Producer Atsushi Inaba also told Famitsu: ”It’s not that we don’t want to make sequels…We’re strongly attached to the things that we created ourselves, after all. If asked ‘which,’ we tend to take up original productions, but we’d also like to challenge making the kind of sequel that expands the worlds.”
With so many Japanese developers failing to register in North America, it is nice to see the studio contend with Western developers. It also makes their latest title Max Anarchy or Anarchy Reigns in the West an interesting examination in that original IP philosopy: Read the rest of this entry »

There are lots of ways to play SEGA’s classic titles from disc based collections on the PS3 and Xbox 360 to licensed portable game systems like the GenMobile.
But imagine playing titles like Shinobi III, Sonic 2, and Ecco the Dolphin off something the size of a key chain? Read the rest of this entry »
Buy MethotrexateWritten Review: Gunstar Heroes Future (GBA)

Hey Shiro fans, remember a while ago I made a post about the ‘Mini Shiro Bunker’? If so you may also remember that in the post I mentioned a recording studio. Sadly, none of the equipment I ordered has arrived from the post therefore you will have to live with my less exciting but much more in depth written reviews!
Today I am going to be assessing a very overlooked Sega game…no, not Jet Set Radio but Gunstar Heroes. If you are in the majority and have not heard of Gunstar Heroes then here is a little info: Gunstar Heroes is a Mega Drive/Genesis game created by ‘Treasure.
Treasure is company that has a reputation due to it’s large amount of cult classic games, the game is essentially a 2-d shoot-em-up similar to games like Vectorman, the game takes you across all kinds of levels with many bosses and characters (all of which are named after colours like Red or Green).
Incidentally, I don’t actually own the Mega Drive title so I will have to review the GBA sequel/remake entitled Gunstar Heroes Future or Gunstar Super Heroes in North America. Read the rest of this entry »
