Today I’ve been stuck inside (on a freaking Saturday) doing more off hours work than should be legal. It has led me to the dark corners of my music past as I’ve been looking for tunes to groove with while slaying the “to-do” list.

It started with some Gin Blossoms (how have I not owned a album after all these years?) but it quickly spiraled into the truly dark recesses of my teen years and that is when I found Teenage Dirtbag remixed with the Genesis sound chip. How crazy cool and geeky is that?

I used to dig that song but I sold the CD because it was the only song worth listening to on it. I may just have to buy it on iTunes. If you aren’t old enough to remember the original…be warned it is annoyingly catchy and has appeared in Generation Kill.

Street Fighter III player Desk can actually play himself at Street Fighter. He doesn’t just hook up two controllers and madly dash about but he can parry his own fireballs. I don’t even think I’ve ever even parried an uppercut let alone a super move (on purpose) and this guy has the ability to multi-task to “nth” degree.

Hmmm…I guess the original game has been around for quite some time…I guess he practiced. Just watch the video until the end.

I don’t know about you but this video (while funny) is like a bad acid trip. Yet, it makes me very happy to be SEGA fan because it highlights how creepy Mario actually he is accosting school children with wiimotes.

Hatsune Miku has been a part of the Google Chrome campaign from the beginning as her theme was the first one I ever downloaded back when the browser was first introduced. Now that the browser is getting quite popular the TV ads are featuring (so-called) stars like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.

Japan however gets Hatsune Miku…and that is just awesome. I can’t think of a better pop icon to promote the web.

This week I have survived stuck pixels (dead center on the screen), a bad laptop inverter – not the same laptop, dealing with the terrible MS Office telephone robot (he is worse than Xbox’s MAX), and a YLOD 60 GB PS3. The installing of good programs and the uninstalling of bloatware (3 times) is pain enough – but losing 5-6 years of gaming saves in one fell swoop hurts the most. In fact, it was such a bad tech week I was afraid to turn on my Xbox 360 in fear of little red lights.

No PS3 and productivity make DJ Fob Fresh go something, something…

My personal console death toll this generation is now 2 x Dead PS3 + 2 Dead Xbox 360s.   Read the rest of this entry »
